Summary
DEFECT A0 zero-shot run. Cleared Act 1 boss and progressed to Act 2 boss Knowledge Demon at floor 16 with full Act 2 path: Hunter Killer elite, Decimillipede elite, Ovicopter combat, Mytes/Spirit Grafter events, treasure (White Beast Statue), and a Rest at (0,14) restoring HP from 10 to 34 entering boss. Died at boss T3 to Knowledge Overwhelming 8x3
- Disintegration EOT tick: planned line was Hotfix (echoed -> +4 Focus)
- Focused Strike (+1 Focus, 9 dmg) + Sunder (24 dmg) + Strength Potion
- Metamorphosis. Pre-EOT projected 14 Frost-passive block + 5 self-dmg from Disintegration, leaving HP 2 after KD's 24-dmg attack. Actual EOT sequence produced 0 block on the player at start of enemy turn (display showed Block:0 on combat readout post-Sunder but read pre-EOT) and HP went to 0. Final boss HP estimated ~255/379 after the 40 dmg the line landed (FS 9 + Sunder 24 + Lightning passive 8 if it fired before death).
Bridge findings
UsePotionrequires the JSON keyslotIndex(numeric);slotis rejected withUsePotion requires numeric 'slotIndex'. Strength Potion did not need an explicit target on Self.PlayCardconfirmed to usehandIndex+targetIndex.targetIdandenemyIndexare silently rejected withTryManualPlay returned false.- After playing Echo Form (Power) on T1, the next turn's
energyfield read 6/3 momentarily on the combat readout despite max=3 -- appears to be a transient display artifact between command application and resolution; subsequent reads showed 5/3 then 2/3 normally as energy was spent. - Combat readout
Block:0for the player while EOT orb passives were pending may underrepresent block that will be granted at end of turn; Frost passive block frompassive:7per orb was not yet reflected on the player line at the moment of last read before EndTurn. tools/list-rest.ps1throws PropertyNotFoundException on first property access but still prints the option list to stdout, so it is usable but noisy.pwsh -cstrips$from inline expressions; usingpwsh -File tools/<name>.ps1is required for any script touching$_,$env:, or${var}expansions.
Decision log highlights
- Neow: standard Defect opening (took the gold/HP boon from prior protocol; not relevant to death).
- Act 1 boss cleared without potions burned, banking Strength Potion for the Act 2 boss attempt.
- (2,12) Decimillipede elite taken over a safer combat to keep relic density up; cleared without HP crisis.
- (0,14) RestSite: chose Rest over Smith at HP 10/82 entering boss. Smith would have allowed Sunder upgrade (+8 dmg) but boss math still needed survival; Rest restoring +24 HP was the higher-EV choice and matched what the Act 2 boss math required.
- Curse of Knowledge T2 fork: chose Disintegration over Mind Rot. Disintegration is a flat 5 self-dmg/turn (manageable with Frost orb block), while Mind Rot's -1 draw compounds badly across a long boss. This matches the prior winning Defect run record's choice.
- T2 played Cold Snap (channel Frost) + Coolheaded (channel Frost, evicted Lightning -> auto-evoke 8 + Thunder x12 = 20 dmg). Set up Thunder x12 + Frost-orb block engine.
- T3 plan: Hotfix (echoed, +4 Focus) -> Focused Strike (+1 Focus, 9 dmg, FS 9 dmg landed) -> Sunder (24 dmg) -> Strength Potion (+2 Str) -> Metamorphosis (seed +3 free attacks). Projected survival at HP 2; actual outcome HP 0. Block calculation likely off by one Frost orb passive trigger or Disintegration tick ordering vs. block grant.
Notes for maintainers
- The combat readout's
Block:0line for the player during the player's own turn (before EndTurn resolves orb-passive block) caused me to miscalculate post-EOT block. A field showing "pending block from EOT orb passives" or a clearer ordering note inSKILL.mdfor Frost passive vs. Disintegration self-damage at end-of-turn would prevent this kind of marginal-survival miscalculation. tools/dump-draw.ps1(or similar) that prints draw/discard pile card names without throwing PropertyNotFoundException would help T-by-T planning when piles are large; currentread-combat.ps1only shows hand.tools/list-rest.ps1should be wrapped to suppress the PropertyNotFoundException stack trace on first property access.
